4th Grade: Forces and 3D Printing
Students dove into the engineering world this week as they had "Tug-Twist-Push-O-Wars where it was force vs. material. Students recorded data and judged the strengths. Later they were asked to design a charm to be used as a game piece. Students brainstormed and made drawings, then they sculpted a 3D model. They then were to use very precise measurements (the the nearest mm) in order to create a TinkerCAD file for 3D printing. The pieces will be printed when students arrive next week.
Check out some footage of these projects below.

5th Grade Engineering Challenge
We geared up for an action-packed year in GT with 5th graders starting out with some high-speed engineering. In only 12 minutes, students had to design, create a prototype, test, and modify a vehicle. Check out some fast and fun footage in the video.
