Research, Script-Writing, and Green Screens, OH MY!
4th graders took on the giant task of movie making incorporating the research from an ocean zone that they researched. How can animals at the bottom of the ocean withstand the pressure? What other adaptations do animals have in the ocean? How deep is the ocean? All these answers can be found in the creative student movies.
5th grade Guest Authors
Several students were selected to read their own stories and about the author pages to all of the 1st graders at Birch. They did an amazing job on their stories, and it was a great opportunity to share with a real audience! Nice work writers!

Fingerprints
Did you know that out of all the people in the world, there are only three main types of fingerprints? 3rd graders learned about fingerprint types, solved an in-class mystery (with some very dramatic accusations), and compared our class data to national averages. Our class has about 5 times as many arch fingerprints than the national average!
